Liability and Risk

I have heard all too often lately about the liability and risk of, a non-paid support person(some of us know them as friends) offering a ride, advice, out to lunch or even setting in the same pew at church, with someone that is being supported in a system. In the fear laden voice a well meaning community member that questions "the liability" . My response is the liability of what - making a friend, having a positive impact in someones life, getting to know someone that will change your life. Take the risk, assume the liability, making your life fuller and richer than you ever imagined possible by being and becoming a friend of someone that is supported in a "system". No more excuses!
